"Please, God. Don't let him die." This has been my go-to prayer every time Chris goes out to sea. Strangely, it's hard to find good prayers out there for commercial fishermen. Sure, there are many gimmicky ones for sport fishermen but none that truly capture the please-help-us-God-thank-you-so-much vibe that I was looking for.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Seafood processing is a middle step between fishermen and your dinner plate. Cold, wet, repetitive, hard f*cking work, I learned through @seafood_and_gender_equality (or SAGE) that around 85% of people who do it are women, mostly foreign-born bc US-born workers aren't willing to take on the work.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
