This is a groundbreaking episode because it is our first interview with a fishing couple! Author Terry Evers reached out to be on the podcast to talk about his memoir Fifteen Seasons, and when he mentioned he’d been married to his wife, D’Ann, for 36 years, I was even more thrilled to have him on.
Terry is joined by his POCF D’Ann, and they discuss 36 years of marriage, his book, Fifteen Seasons, a memoir about the bond of a fisherman and son and a vibrant Oregon fishing community, and what it was like for him and his family when he transitioned out of commercial fishing for a new career.
The couple reflects on their journey into commercial fishing and teaching career post-fishing, as well as their support system and favorite memories of being a fishing family. We talk about Terry’s self-published book, along with the challenges of publishing and marketing it as an author. Let’s dive in!
