The biggest reward EVER is getting emails from women saying this blog has given them comfort in some wayāa place to connect about relationships with commercial fishermen.
But Jenny’s hit a little differently, and here’s why.
Thanks to YOU ā and your comments and emails on this blog ā we have provided a safe space for commercial fishermen partners to come together and let it all out. We’ve dated, become engaged, married, or had babies with these men (not necessarily in that order), and shared our stories for women new to this lifestyle to see what it’s all about. This post is a big hug and a high five to all of you. Thanks for making this little corner of the internet something special. THANK YOU!š
Without further ado, let’s see how our hard work has paid off for our newest friend, Jenny:
Dear Megan,
I canāt thank you enough for your website and advice to all women in all different stages of their relationship with a commercial fisherman. I have never dated a commercial fisherman and am a successful and independent woman. I recently met a man who is 14 years younger than me, and he and I were instantly taken with one another. And then he was off to go chase tuna, but not after making quite a huge impact on me, and I on him.
I now feel so much more ready to begin this relationship with a better understanding of how to cope with my needs for companionship and intimacy. I now know how to approach this relationship without feeling the pain of loneliness that is too intense to move this relationship forward. I know how to support him and allow him to support me. And I know how to allow this relationship to move in stages that are healthy.
Thank you so very much. I will no doubt visit your site often and contribute as I can.
My best wishes,
Jenny

Jen! So great to “meet” you. How refreshing it is to know there are others out there who “get it.” How long have you been among the commercial fishing industry? Love your website, btw!
I donāt know which āJenā you are replying to!
